advanced Troubleshooting / FAQ

> What is this “prepend” field I see in the facebook account?

Facebook messages are generally a little bit different to other social networking websites, mainly because Facebook displays your status message after your profile name – e.g. “Tom <status message>”.

So we have come up with a way to allow you to prepend a message which is being sent to facebook with a special word. For example, if your status message is “going to work”:

  • Facebook status message results in “is going to work” (therefore on the facebook site it is displayed as “Tom is going to work”).
  • Twitter status message is “going to work”

> I am seeing a small grey “i” icon when posting to an account instead of a green tick:

If you see a small “i” icon, then something went wrong with updating that account. This is generally caused by incorrect login details OR the relevant website being down (or more specifically, issues with their API). If you tap the “i” icon Statuso will tell you exactly what went wrong. It will then give you the option to retry updating the status message for that paritcular account.

If you are consistently getting a particular error message, please contact us and we can see what we can do to help.

> I am having trouble authentication with a provider

The authorization process for Facebook and Yammer is a little bit more involved and therefore there is more room for problems to arise. Please ensure you have thoroughly read the relevant “How to Setup Statuso” section of this page first. If you are still having problems, please try quitting the Statuso application and trying again.

After that, please contact us with a detailed list of steps which you are following, error messages and anything else that might help the troubleshooting process.
